Fallout Map-I have broken the link to this map because it turned out to be a hoax.
Japan, Radiation Fallout and Iodine Recommendations
The Fukushima nuclear plant lost containment integrity and is leaking radiation
In the US, in about a week, it is possible that a cloud of radiation might reach California, and in 10 days hit VT. Wash your food and take potassium iodide (not now, wait a week until the cloud is near). Potassium iodide fills your thyroid with iodine so that it will not absorb any iodine from the radioactive cloud.
What has happened is that the nuclear fuel cladding is cracking and releasing the radiation held within the nuclear fuel pellets. Fuel pellets are the size of the joint in your pinky and there are tens of thousands of them within every nuclear reactor. The volatile radiation in the form of xenon, krypton, iodine, cesium, and strontium is already being released as a gas through the relief valves in the reactor and out the leaky containment. If you have ever used a pressure cooker, you have seen the relief valve on the top of the pressure cooker, and the feature is similar to the open valve on the top of the reactor, and that valve is fully open right now.
Flea powder may be saving lives in Japan
Though the boiling water reactor has already been turned off by inserting neutron-absorbing control rods all the way into the core, adding boric acid or, more likely, sodium polyborate would turn the reactor off-er — more off than off — which could come in really handy in the event of a subsequent coolant loss, which reportedly has already happened. But that’s a $1 billion kill switch that most experts wouldn’t think to pull.
I’m guessing the US Navy delivered a load of sodium polyborate from some nuclear aircraft carrier reactor supply room in the Pacific Fleet. Its use indicates that the nuclear threat is even worse than presently being portrayed in the news. Tokyo Electric Power Company has probably given-up any hope of keeping those cooling pumps on after the batteries fail. Eventually they’ll vent the now boron-laced coolant to the atmosphere to keep containment pressures under control.
Sodium polyborate, by the way, is something you might use around the house, since it is the active ingredient in most flea and tick treatments.
An earthquake with such loss of life is bad enough, but Japan has also just lost 20 percent of its electric generating capacity. And I’ll go out on a limb here and predict that none of those 11 reactors will re-enter service again, they’ve been so compromised.

As Northern Japan Struggles With Tsunami Aftermath, Southern Shinmoedake Volcano Resumes Eruptions
Something very serious is happening with Japan’s underlying geology: while the north has been paralyzed by the aftermath of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and resulting Tsunami, and is scrambling to prevent a nuclear disaster, the south is issuing flashing red light signals of its own: the Shinmoedake volcano, which had resumed eruptions after last known was reported in 2009. As Wikipedia notes: ” As of February 2011, a lava dome was growing in the volcano’s crater.” It is unclear if the volcano’s activity, which is notable for having been used as a location in the 1967 James Bond film, You Only Live Twice, as the volcano in which the villains’ secret rocket base is located, is related to the geological tremors beneath Japan but it is very likely. The question is just how many faultlines will have shifted after all is said and done, and just what may have precipitated all of this.

End operations in Afghanistan, Karzai tells NATO
“I would like to ask NATO and the US with honour and humbleness and not with arrogance to stop their operations in our land,” Karzai said in Pashto as he visited the dead children’s relatives in Kunar province, eastern Afghanistan.
“We are very tolerant people but now our tolerance has run out.”
In an apparent reference to neighbouring Pakistan, where insurgents have hideouts in lawless border regions, Western-backed Karzai said international forces “should go and fight this war where we have showed them (it is)”.
“This war is not in our land,” Karzai added.
Barack Obama’s policy toward the Libyan struggle for freedom is no longer a muddle. It is now a disgrace.
If Gadhafi survives after Mr. Obama has told him to go, the blow to U.S. prestige and world order would be enormous. Dictators will learn that the way to keep America from acting is to keep its diplomats and citizens around, while mowing down your opponents as the world debates contingencies. By the time the Babelers make a decision, it will be too late. This is a dangerous message to send at any time, but especially with a Middle East in the throes of revolution.
There is still time for Mr. Obama to salvage his Libya policy, though the costs of doing so are rising every day. Libya today is what a world without U.S. leadership looks like.
And the Chinese send our Fed another Warning

Republicans Pledge New Legislation for Domestic Energy Production as Gas Prices Rise
This President’s policies and his statements are both disgraceful. And he may have hit another new low with his outrageous con-job of a press conference, which was designed solely to distract while he continues his intentional destruction of the American economy.
Obama Blames Oil Companies For Lack Of Drilling
In other words, Obama is arguing that the oil companies themselves may be to blame for the fact that there isn’t more drilling. For some reason they’re ignoring making a profit. It’s a bizarro-world inversion of the usual complaint against oil companies — that they are reckless and all-too eager to despoil pristine lands in search of black gold.
Nevertheless, it is a familiar talking point that Democrats have been throwing out there for years now. The Interior report Obama mentioned will probably come in the coming weeks or months and “prove” this point. Obama clearly hopes it will take the pressure off of his administration for high gas prices and throw it on the oil companies.
Let’s always keep this in mind: Flashback Video: Obama blasts high gas prices 3 years ago, promises to reduce them if elected. Plus this: Flashback Video 2007: Pelosi blasts Bush for gas prices at $3.09 per gallon. Unfortunately, once elected, he went right to war with oil, so vehemently that a federal judge found Obama in contempt for usurping the US Constitution: Shocker: Judge holds Obama regime in contempt over illegal drilling ban. That coupled with Obama’s incompetence at any semblance of foreign policy is setting up a nightmare scenario for oil prices that will hurt our economy. Gas is already above $4 a gallon in California and most expect that threshold to be breached across the nation this summer.
PolitiFact, FactCheck, and WaPo All Confirm: The $105 Billion Obamacare Slush Fund Exists
Everyone knows that the U.S. budget is being devoured by entitlements. Everyone also knows that of the Big Three — Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security — Social Security is the most solvable.
Back-of-an-envelope solvable: Raise the retirement age, tweak the indexing formula (from wage inflation to price inflation), and means-test so that Warren Buffett’s check gets redirected to a senior in need.
The relative ease of the fix is what makes the Obama administration’s Social Security strategy so shocking. The new line from the White House is: no need to fix it because there is no problem. As Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Jack Lew wrote in USA Today just a few weeks ago, the trust fund is solvent until 2037. Therefore, Social Security is now off the table in debt-reduction talks.
This claim is a breathtaking fraud.
Read the whole thing!-Sayings of Chairman Maobama
First I did a double take. He said what? I read it again and the shock waves followed. A beleaguered President Obama has told aides it would be so much easier to be the president of China, The New York Times reports.
There are two ways to read the remark, which is attributed to anonymous aides. One is that Obama resents the burden of global leadership that comes with the American presidency. The other is that he longs for an authoritarian system, where he need tolerate no dissent. Under either or both interpretations, his confession carries a dose of self-pity that means Obama has hit a wall.
He is in over his head, and he knows it.
One of the points Rush made as he analyzed Obama’s presser on his Friday show, was the odd fact neither Obama nor the reporters brought up the union battle in Wisconsin , which meant that polling was favoring the Republicans.
Barack Obama raised a record $753 million in 2008 — more than twice the money John McCain raised. And that $753 million went through Obama’s hands like sand.
Still he has not paid off all his bills, nearly 3 years later.
US Administration’s Backing of Global Currency Shocks Global Markets
The dollar plunged instantly against the euro, yen, and sterling as the comments flashed across trading screens. David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC, said the apparent policy shift amounts to an earthquake in geo-finance.
“The mere fact that the US Treasury Secretary is even entertaining thoughts that the dollar may cease being the anchor of the global monetary system has caused consternation,” he said.
Rats leaving the sinking ship…Blue dogs won’t run
This is the price of Obamacare for Democrats.
Besides, being an ex-congressman pays more.
This is one reason I don’t think we will see much change in the House except for redistricting.
Would another trillion in education spending really have a greater return than, say, allowing American companies to drill for the billions of gallons of oil under our soil and the trillions of cubic feet of natural gas? Don’t ask Pelosi. Like Bluto in Animal House talking about the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor, she’s on a roll. Why am I talking about Durbin and Pelosi? Well, Obama is in a fetal crouch under the Oval Office desk, muttering something about the need for courage and bipartisanship while quietly proposing $6.5 billion in cuts, which the Congressional Budget Office said is really only $4.7 billion. (That’s about $700 million more than the U.S. spends in borrowed money every day. Imagine someone in obscene debt going a little more than 24 hours without using his credit card. Problem solved!)
Oh, and Senate majority leader Harry Reid seems determined to keep talking until the men in the white coats escort him off the Senate floor. He was last heard saying the GOP has gone crazy because it had cut funding to a cowboy-poetry festival in Nevada. No, really. Stop laughing.
GOP Senators Introduce National ‘Right-to-Work’ Bill to Restrict Unions
“No American should be forced to join a union and pay dues to get a job in this country,” Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said in a statement. “Many Americans are already struggling just to put food on the table, and they shouldn’t have to fear losing their jobs or face discrimination if they don’t want to join a union. Forced-unionism shields unions from member accountability and has a detrimental effect on the economy.”
In Other News…
“Where was her mother? What was her mother thinking?” said Ms. Harrison, one of a handful of neighbors who would speak on the record. “How can you have an 11-year-old child missing down in the Quarters?”
That last question is well worth asking — the child has now been taken out of the custody of her parents.
But the rest? If an 11-year-old is improperly supervised by neglectful parents, we’re now declaring a free gang rape zone inside of her?
In case you’re wondering why the New York Times is attempting such a nuanced position on the relative culpability of a rape victim vis a vis her brutalizers, it’s due to a fact you can probably guess from the Times’ non-mention of it: the gang rapists are all black.
The victim is another race — Hispanic. Thus the assault is causing racial tensions, for obvious reasons; the New York Times omits that, of course.
Activists in 23 States Coming Together in Texas to ‘True The Vote’
Patriots and activists from 23 states are about to gather together on March 25 and 26 in Houston, Texas to attend the True The Vote Summit, an effort to make “true” the electoral system in every polling place in the country, to stop voter fraud, and to quash the intimidation of voters. Organizers hope to make sure that we again have free and fair elections.A local Harris County activist group named The The King Street Patriots built the True The Vote Summit upon their experiences of attempting to “true” the 2010 election in Harris County, Texas.
Back before the recent election, the KSP got together to try and find out what sort of shape the voting rolls were in Harris County, Texas were. What they found was shocking. Due to its investigation, an ACORN organizer was exposed for having registered over 23,000 fake voters in the county. The story made national news.
Good News: Obama forces Ohio to hire incompetent black cops that can’t pass the qualifying exam
The 14th amendment to the US Constitution expressly prohibits discrimination based on race for one. Obama likes the 14th amendment about as much as the rest of the US Constitution; that is, about as much as he likes throwing a baseball. Or trying to speak ‘Austrian.’ As such, he wipes his arse with it on a daily basis (the US Constitution, not the Austrian language).

NFL locks out players after union decertifies
So now we have billionaires locking out multimillionaires who refuse to play a game that generates fortunes for all involved … and both sides want the courts and the fans to blame the other side for the problem and solve issues that even the people who have the most at stake can’t resolve. Don’t expect much sympathy from the fans who shell out the money that wealthy athletes and owners want to tear from each others’ bank accounts. If the NFL fumbles away the 2011 season, fans will simply find other places to spend that money, and more grateful recipients for those entertainment dollars.
And that experience may have some of us wondering why we bothered to support spoiled multimillionaires and billionaires in the first place.

Here is a respected academic advocating political violence on the pattern of the Palestinians. The Cloward-Piven Strategy lives again ! Naturally, the two authors were sociologists.
Why has this rather routine process in a midwest state gotten such national attention? There are at least two reasons. One is that Obama has to win Wisconsin next year to be re-elected. Wisconsin has been a blue state for many years and was the origin of Progressivism with the La Follette family. It is even the origin of the public employee unions, as the AFSCME began there. However, the Republican swept state offices in the 2010 election. Why ?
What are Those Incompetent Wimps Going to Do Anyway?
Besides, leftists are having to contemplate violence precisely because their ideological blinders have rendered them completely ineffective. Armed conflict is about getting things done and if they could get things done, they wouldn’t be losing elections. People who can’t balance a city budget or get the snow off the streets aren’t going to be winning any wars.
Ever since the ’60s, leftists have proven themselves utterly craven. They mock those who they know will not hurt them, like American Christians, but cower obsequiously before those that will such as Muslim extremists. They don’t have the strength of character to win a fight. They need to crawl back in their little holes and whine about how no one appreciates how infallible they are. They can feel all morally superior and the rest of us won’t have to hurt them for being stupid.
If leftists want to drop the mask and reveal themselves to the world as the violent, authoritarian, anti-democracy elitists they truly are in their hearts, I’m actually fine with that. Better to lance a boil and drain the pus than let it fester and grow into a fatal infection. We might as well get this over with now if that’s the road they’re determined to go down. I know firmly what side most Americans who aren’t leftwing college professors will take and I know who will win.

Imperial Dispatches from Emperor Misha I
Statements like the one quoted above, when backed by names such as the Wisconsin “Professional” Police Association, cannot help but make law-abiding citizens who do not agree with said statements wonder if they can count on the services of said organizations, should they ever need them.
And that is EXACTLY why the WPPA and the other signatories use the names of their organizations rather than just send a letter. They KNOW it’s intimidating as hell, and that’s why they’re doing it.
It’s time for Wisconsin to start handing out pink slips by the thousands, because the organizations that the taxpayers pay to serve and protect have obviously lost sight of their mission and who their employers really are.
So are you surprised at the depths to which those socialist goons are willing to go to destroy this nation? We aren’t, and neither should you be. Of course, we have the “advantage” of having grown up around their ilk, so we know full well just what they’re willing to do to anybody who tries to get in the way of their fantasies of a dystopian, national socialist nightmare.
Yes. They will kill you if they feel they need to, they will rob you of everything you own, they will destroy all that they cannot outright steal from you and they will send off those they don’t murder to extermination camps if they feel that The Cause™ is advanced by doing so. And they’ll do so without batting an eyelid, without feeling as much as a tinge of remorse, just as their ideological predecessors, the commissars and SS did, because they’re no different. They’re True Believers™ and it is as useless to appeal to their “common sense and decency” as trying to teach a pig ethics because they have none.
To them, theirs is a Holy Cause, and all that stand in the way of it must be crushed by any means necessary.

Predictably, Japan Disaster to Be Scene of Next ‘Battle of the Network News Stars’
As with the Egypt protest Live-From-Cairo Derby – where the rioting mobs were in danger of getting crowded out of Tahrir Square by all the American network anchors setting up for live remotes — this pilgrimage of TV talking-heads to Japan has absolutely nothing to do with providing news coverage.
Each of these networks has foreign correspondents who could do the job of reporting from the scene. No, let’s call this what it is: A publicity stunt, a star-system celebrity-status game where it’s not enough to let reporters do the reporting, but instead the networks want to send their Famous Faces With Big Names.
The purpose is to signify that this is really important news and that their anchors aren’t just Pretty People who read a Teleprompter in a Manhattan TV studio but are actual honest-to-God journalists.
Krauthammer vs. Totenberg: Why Does NPR Have to Live on ‘Tit of the State?’
Double standards of Time magazine
From Time magazine on March 11: “Wisconsin’s Governor Wins But Is He Still Dead Man Walker?”
That’s the headline.
From the story:
The state capitol of Wisconsin had taken on an eerie quiet on Friday. Gone were the throngs of protesters who occupied its marble floors like a campground in summer. The midnight honking of cars circling the white building had ceased. The chalk “dead man” outlines etched with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s name on the sidewalks remained in dismembered parts, incompletely washed away by clean-up hoses.
It was the Governor, however, who had walked away the legislative victor in the showdown. On Friday, as angry protesters chanted “shame” and blew horns and vuvuzelas, Walker took up a dozen pens, one at a time, to sign into law a bill that not only takes away the ability of unions to bargain collectively over pensions and healthcare but limits pay raises of public employees to the rate of inflation and ends automatic union dues collection by the state. It also requires each public union to get recertified every year. It was a coup by Wisconsin Republicans against the labor movement in one of its strongholds.
No condemnation of these violent images.
No frantic calls to college professors for their insights.
No historical comparisons to violent protests in the past.
No mention of the actual death threats to the state senators who voted for the bill.
In fact never are the protesters labeled as union.
But you know, sometimes, rumors of violence beget actual violence…
Global Warmening:
A Kind of Magic: Concerned Lefties Very Worried Japan Quake Caused By Global Warming
In fact, this is not the first time earthquakes have been blamed by the Shamanistic, Magical-Thinking Left on the all-purpose Zeus-substitute of global warming. There is even a somewhat plausible (but completely bullshitty and made-up) mechanism proposed for such an unlikely causation: That when glacial ice melts it relieves pressure on the tectonic plates beneath it and thus allows such plates to shift a bit more, producing earthquakes. (Whether graphitic rock ten miles or more deep is significantly weighted down by a cover of ice no more than 300 or 500 feet thick, and whether a melting of such ice by no more than 10-20% is enough to cause such massive planetary dislocations, is a question of math and probability, and so doesn’t fuss the shamans of the left too much.)
The problem of course is that no one commanded that we stop using whale oil lamps and kerosene lamps in the 19th century. A lack of standards on the measurements of ohms and volts did not deter Charles Frances Brush from developing the arc lamp or Edison from developing his electric lamp.
What has not been explored in the abandonment of the incandescent lamp is, for example, what this will do to our eyesight. The light seems poor for reading.
There are other unintended consequences. The unknown unknowns, as it were.
When Edison brought us electric light, he had no idea that this would be a boon to the coal industry or lead to a society that no longer works from dawn till dusk.
Congress knows even less than Edison did. We are a free people. Get Congress out of our lives.

Lost city of Atlantis, swamped by tsunami, may be found
“This is the power of tsunamis,” head researcher Richard Freund told Reuters.

To solve the age-old mystery, the team used a satellite photo of a suspected submerged city to find the site just north of Cadiz, Spain. There, buried in the vast marshlands of the Dona Ana Park, they believe that they pinpointed the ancient, multi-ringed dominion known as Atlantis.
